Sir Ronald Sanders is a renowned Antiguan diplomat, academic, and former broadcast journalist. Born on January 26, 1948, in Guyana, he's currently serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States and the Organization of American States (OAS) a post he has held since 2015, and non-resident High Commissioner to Canada since 2017.

Sanders has had a distinguished career, serving as High Commissioner to the UK (1983-1987, 1996-2004) and Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO) (1997-2004). He's uniquely recognized as the only representative of a small state to lead a successful trade dispute at the WTO.

Sir Ronald has served three terms as President of the OAS Permanent Council, guiding the organization through financial difficulties and facilitating peaceful transitions in Guatemala.

He received knighthoods from the UK (KCMG) and Antigua and Barbuda (KCN), and is a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and was installed as the 11th Chancellor of the University of Guyana on 13th February 2026.
