Antigua and Barbuda’s participation at the United Nations General Assembly reflects more than a presence on the international stage. It is an opportunity to advance the country’s interests, strengthen relationships and ensure that the concerns of small island states remain part of important global conversations.
Throughout the week in New York, Antigua and Barbuda participated in meetings, discussions and engagements with regional and international partners. These exchanges form an important part of the diplomatic work that takes place alongside the formal proceedings of the United Nations.
For Antigua and Barbuda, the issues discussed internationally have very real implications at home. Climate change, economic uncertainty, food security, global trade, development and international cooperation can all affect families, businesses and communities across the country.
The General Assembly therefore provides an important platform for Antigua and Barbuda to share its perspective, advocate for the interests of its people and work with partners on matters that require collective action.
The work of diplomacy, however, does not end when the speeches and formal sessions conclude. Much of it continues through conversations, meetings and the relationships built beyond the conference room — transforming dialogue into partnerships and partnerships into meaningful action.
The accompanying video provides a glimpse into Antigua and Barbuda’s engagements during the United Nations General Assembly and the important work taking place behind the scenes.
The work continues.
