The Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda in Toronto is pleased to share information on Honouring Our Legends Night, a special community celebration marking the 89th birthday of the Hon. Dr. Jean Augustine, Canada’s first Black woman elected to Parliament.

Taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, the evening will bring together members of the Caribbean and wider Canadian community to celebrate Dr. Augustine’s remarkable legacy as a trailblazer, educator and advocate for equity and justice.

The programme will also feature the Canadian premiere of Queen of Soca and the presentation of the Jean Augustine Excellence Award.
